So, here we go again.  Off on another amzing journey... Although as I just wrote that, it dawned on me that it's not really off again, because life hasn't stopped.  My life has been blessed and is an amazing journey.  I have no regrets, just passion.  Passion for life that has been with me since a young child, as long as I can remember.  I called myself OH MIGHTY ISIS.... and to myself I was.  Until the day my physical powers got taken from me, or so I thought.
Stay Tuned.............

Oh what a journey it's been so far.  As I sit here writing this blog I have 338 more days until yet another amazing adventure.  My brother Ian Bond and I will be running the Sahara together and I'm so proud of him for making this a goal of his.
Ian had chosen to start living his life to the plus through sobriety and along his residence stay at the Santa Barbara rescue mission he'd packed on a few extra pounds.  As a fitness trainer he approached me and said it's time to shed some of this weight.  We started walking.  Our walks started getting faster and longer.  Then the walks turned into jogs and they too started getting longer and faster until one day Ian said, " I think I need a goal."  Then in his next breath he said, " I think I'd like to train for a race."
Now, being a life long competitive athlete in the adventure racing and ultra world, I got very excited.  I got butterflys in my stomach because my racing career came to what I thought would be the end after I sustained a serious spine injury on the job with L.A. City Fire.  Now, 9 years after a career and competition ending injury I was looking at a chance to do one more race on my bucket list.  I told my brother the 1 race I had always wanted to do was....Yes, you got it!  Racing the planet in the Sahara.  He told me he had just been looking at the website the night before.  That was a sealed deal.
We are so excited to have this chance to race together.  We have so much fun as we push our limits together.  I am proud of the both of us and I can't wait to cross the finish line with my older brother Ian, who will be celebbrating his 45th b-day on Feb 20th, the long march day in the race!
