With only 11 days until departing for Buenos Aires, Argentina and 16 days until we board the M/V Plancius in Ushuaia, the packing is well under way and my spare time feels completely immersed in all things Antarctica! This trip has been two years in the making after completing the Atacama Crossing (Chile) 2022, the Gobi March (Mongolia) 2023, the Namib Race (Namibia) 2024, and The 20-Year Race (Jordan) 2024. It is almost surreal that it is just weeks away that I will finally have the opportunity to embark on the culmination of this journey, The Last Desert (Antarctica) 2024. It will undoubtedly be the highlight of my year, with this race being my third RTP race of 2024. I am excited to reconnect with fellow racers and share this amazing journey with my amazing husband (who is racing the Antarctica Ultramarathon)! The past year has been filled with preparations, albeit so much has been compressed into the last few months prior to the race. It seems the more I organize, the more I realize how much more I need to still do. With days counting down, immersing myself in countless YouTube videos and reading everything that I can get my hands on is certainly helping to make final preparations before departing.
